The Best Way to Use These Printable Pumpkin Bookmarks For Kids

For durability, it’s best to print these bookmarks on cardstock. Not all printers are able to accommodate cardstock though, so be sure to check your owner’s manual before printing.

The cardstock is thick enough that you can let your kids use almost anything to color them in. Crayons, colored pencils, and markers, all work. As long as your cardstock doesn’t have a glossy finish, you can even use watercolor paints.

Of course, regular paper is fine if that’s all you have. Markers tend to bleed through regular printer paper, so stick to the crayons and colored pencils. Typical-weight paper is also not absorbent enough for watercolor, so you’ll have to skip that option too.

If you want to increase durability and longevity, you can always laminate these for your kids. But, we are always adding new themes to our collection of bookmarks, so you may as well skip the plastic. After your pumpkin bookmarks wear out, simply let your kids pick out another set for more fun crafting!

For added cuteness, you can have your kids punch a hole in the top of the bookmark and add a string to make a tassel. Fall colors like orange and red will nicely complement this cutesy pumpkin printable.

  • and 3 smiling pumpkins that are as cute as can be.

Other Ways to Use This Activity

Instead of coloring these bookmarks and keeping them all for yourself, why not share the love? Encourage your kids to take some of the completed bookmarks to your local library. Hide them inside pumpkin-themed books as a fun surprise for the next child who checks it out.

You can also use the same idea at any of your local Little Free Libraries. Little Free Libraries are those free-standing mini-libraries you may see sporadically around town. Community members are able to leave and take books as they please, without any charge.

With 6 bookmarks on a page, these also make a great addition to any fall-themed party for kids. Instead of goodie bags, guests can take home these printable pumpkin bookmarks as a personalized souvenir.
