Hi, I’m Erica. I’m so happy you found my website. It is my goal to provide comprehensive educational resources that are able to be used with children of all abilities.
As a special education teacher, I worked with students who had moderate to severe disabilities. It was always a struggle to find good resources. I was frequently having to alter and adapt things to meet the needs of my students. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
This is why so many of my printables either come in varying difficulty levels or have companion activities better suited to students with more severe needs.
Experience and Credentials
I have a dual master’s degree in elementary and special education. It was my privilege to work for 6 years in the public school system as a lead teacher and case manager for a wide variety of students. I made so many core memories during that time, but none were as joyful as seeing a student master a hard-fought skill.
After my own children were born, I decided to leave the classroom. When they reached school age, we embarked on our homeschool journey. My oldest is in 3rd grade, so we have been homeschooling (on record) for over 4 years now.
I’m not going to lie. I made some typical newbie mistakes. At first, we tried too hard to create a “school at home” environment. But don’t worry folks, I soon learned that different environments call for different measures.
Now, we’ve fully embraced all the flexibility and opportunity that homeschooling has to offer. We currently do school work year-round, taking weeks off as our hearts feel led.
Over the years, we have participated in several different homeschool cooperatives where I have designed, taught, and assisted in classes for elementary and preschool students. Though my new teaching journey looks totally different, I’m glad to say I’m enjoying the ride.
